Book Title: The Lunch Box Surprise
Author: Grace Maccarone
Illustrator: Betsy Lewin
At 12:00pm, Mrs. Cruella announced to the class that, "It's time for lunch and it is time to eat, now take your seat!"
Jan, Pam, Kim, Dan, Max, and Sam, all ran around the class shouting "My lunch is the best!"
Jan opened her lunch box first and she had peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a fruit punch juice box, and a bright green apple.
Pam opened her lunch bag, and she had a small bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup with a grape soda on the side.
Dan had a ham a cheese sandwich topped with crisp lettuce, a fruit snack, and a bottle of water.
Kim had a smelly toasted tuna and cheese sandwich, with an orange, and chocolate milk.
Max had leftovers from last night's dinner. It was chicken, rice and peas.
However, when Sam opened his lunch box he found nothing. Sam jumped up out of his seat, and screamed "Noooooooooo mom forgot my lunch!" Sam was furious, sad, and hungry all at the same time.
All of his friends felt sorry for Sam, because he had absolutely nothing to eat.
